Bart & Peter, "stake drivers" from the start

We are Bart and Peter.

Our shared history starts with Circusplaneet, a circusschool and trainingspace in Ghent.

A fascination for the circus brought us there: the atmosphere, connecting with people, the diversity, the artistic and physical, the mysterious, ...

Admittedly, our children dragged us into this adventure. Yet we also took circus classes ourselves for several years, mainly partner acrobatics. This even allowed us to perform on stage a few times.

But mostly we were active as volunteers behind the scenes during set-ups and build-downs for circus performances and events. Whenever Circusplaneet wanted to set up their tent, we were there. Every now and then, we would even go and help other circus companies set up their tents.

When we heard that Circusplaneet was going to sell its tent, suddenly the thought appeared :"and what if we...".

A good chat, we didn't need much more to decide "that's ours!".

With a circus tent at your event, you are sure to create a special atmosphere, right from the start!

The marquee

The tent is originally a circus tent, elliptical ( 10.5m by 14m ), with a ridge at 6m height between two masts. These masts are 6m apart. The side of the tent is still 2.5m high and can be left open if necessary.

There is no floor in the tent, nor is there a tribune.

A cosy tent for smaller intimate performances, location for circus workshops, etc.

The tent fabric is double, coated and opaque. This makes the tent black-out and uniformly blue inside. It is therefore ideal for all kinds of performances that use lighting, and here we are thinking much wider than just circus. It is perfectly possible to use the tent for a dance or theatre performance, or a photo exhibition.

There is no circus rigging point in the ridge. A tissue, trapeze, lighting or other technical equipment can be fixed with a sling around the ridge. However, this load has to remain minimal.

To set up this tent, we need a free, unpaved area of 20 by 25 m, easily accessible with a van and its trailer. As a lot of stakes have to go into the ground, there should be no underground pipes less than 1m deep. We prefer not to have a lot of tree roots and gravel in the ground.

For both construction and dismantling, we would like to work with 4 volunteers, to be provided by you. Together with us, these volunteers will do all the assembly and/or disassembly of this tent.

Assembly of the tent takes about 6 hours. The dismantling usually takes about 3 hours, depending on local conditions.

Our formulas

Our tent can be rented for shorter (1 day - 1 weekend)
or longer periods (a few weeks - full month - long-term project).
